3rd annual Run Forest Run to Support Local Charities & Youth Organizations.

The 3rd annual Run Forest Run 10k, 5k and kid’s fun run will be held Saturday October 24th at the Oakhurst Forest Preserve. In only 3 years this run has gone for a small church event to a professional timed race that supports local charities. This year among the several local charities that will receive donations are The Philoxenia House, The Hesed House and The Wheaton Family Shelter.

The run is designed to be great for everyone from advances running to families. It is a mulit-surface course takes you through the Oakhurst preserve and around the lake. This year we have several local singing, cheers groups and troops on the course to support the runners. The two groups who show the most spirit will receive the runners’ choices award and a donation to their organization.

Check in starts at 7am, the 10k goes of at 8:30am, the 5k at 8:45am and the kids run at 10am. The race is to be follow by an awards festival and bond fire. To register and be guaranteed a technical shirt go to active.com. Race day registrations is available.

Come out, have a great time and support local charities and youth organizations.

Anyone interested in helping organize an Endure It Team for Road, Crit, TT's and Cross Racing for 2010. Call Ron Good at 630-774-8745
I can see us mopping up in local TT's with so many great Triathletes! Remember there are plenty of age group, category as well as women's races and TT's every weekend starting in late March and running into September. Then its CycleCross! That may be one of the hottest new sports around and the local scene is big. Lets talk about it.

DG Crit, Bike Psycho Ride this Sunday

Congrats to everyone that competed in the Downers Grove Crit races this weekend. The report from Mr. Ron Good was that it was a great time and many folks from Endure It! were out racing and racing well.

Also for those interested this Sunday, August 23rd there is a pretty local century ride for those interested. The ride is the Bike Psycho 2009 Century Ride and information and registration can be found at http://www.bikepsychos.org/html/century_2009.html.

Have fun and get out and enjoy the rest of summer as next thing you know we will be relegated to the Computrainers as the nasty Chicago winter will be upon us.

The Boilerman

Ron Davis mentioned the Purdue Triathlon Club Olympic distance race (The Boilerman) at Augusts meeting last week.

Below is the site for someone looking to race into September at a location not that far from the Chicago area.

http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~triclub/BoilerMan.html

It's only $45 to enter so it's very inexpensive for an Olympic distance.

This year will be the 9th annual.
