Group Rides

Well it seems like Spring may come after all! It is suppose to be uber nice this weekend so we are going to kick of the Endure It! Group rides and hoping to see quite a few folks out on the roads.

To start off this year we once again will have two rides on Saturday, the first being a no drop ride which is around 40 miles or so and an a more advanced drop ride which is a bit over 60 miles.

The exact course map is posted on the right hand side of the blog.

The advanced group ride will leave Endure It! at 7:00am SHARP. We will pick up the second start group at 7:30 from route 59 and 103rd. The distance to and from the store is 60 miles, to and from the second pick up is 40 miles. Be sure the second group is warmed up as the pace will pick up after crossing route 59.

The intermediate ride will begin at 7:30am SHARP from the school parking lot at 248th and 111th. This ride is a no drop and will be led by club member Mary Mars. All abilities are welcome. Mary will work with the last group to develop group riding skills. Road bikes or Triathlon bikes accepted, helmet required.

Just a few notes, please make sure that we are courteous and obey the rules of the road. When riding with the group you represent the club and all members of the club so please make sure we are courteous to everyone on the roads as there are folks of all abilities out riding, we want to make sure we are encouraging folks to get out and ride, not discouraging.

Also be aware of "the dog" on Collins Rd, this thing comes out of nowhere and can be a bit of scare if not expecting it.

Here is a quick link to a great write up on group ride etiquette for those that missed the April meeting or for those that want a refresher, http://www.shastapedali.com/etiquette.htm.

Hope to see everyone out!

Intermediate Ride Course Map

Below is the map that we usually follow for the Endure It! Club intermediate ride on Saturday mornings throughout the summer.

We leave from the school at 111th and 248th in Naperville. Once the weather starts to get a bit better we will post the info on start time and details, the intermediate ride typically is a no drop ride! This is a great oppurtunity for all levels to get some quality distance in.
