Ironman Club Loyalty Program

The loyalty program is a way for clubs that are limited by geography, size, experience of their athletes to achieve podium status with IRONMAN. A club that caters to newbies would have a hard time competing with a club focused on IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events but their team might give back to IRONMAN in other ways.

Similar to the accumulation of airlines miles, clubs can redeem points at any time during the year for IRONMAN goodies. Redeeming points does not impact their podium placement at the end of the year but any points they redeem are deleted from the annual Loyalty Program totals. Example you use 20,000 airline miles for a RT ticket..

Sample Prizes:

1 early entry slot to the race of your choice (these need to be redeemed before the race registration opens) = 15,000
Team picture post race with the race champions (Pro’s) = 5,000
Colored/Team Bibs for all team members racing at a club race and designated bike rack = 55,000
Club porta-john at the race of their choice (excl. some venues) = 125,000
Sneak Peek advanced viewing of the Kona Broadcast this year = 125,000
1 Bronze Level VIP passes excl. WC = 100,000 pts.
FREE 70.3 Entry = 150,000 pts. – not to exceed 2 per club

Division Handicap (this is cool - total points are multiplied by the handicap based on club size)
Division I (Clubs with greater 500 members and National Coaching programs): No handicap
Division II (Clubs with 251 – 499 active members): 1.50 x total points
Division III (Clubs with 126-249 active members): 1.75 x total points
Division IV (Clubs with 66-125 active members) : 2.00 x total points
Division V (Clubs under 40 active members): 2.25 x total points

An example of how quickly the points can add up:

10 Members race with an average AGR point total of 1500 pts: (10 x 1500) x 1.5 = 22,500
5 Volunteers = 500 pts.
15 kids run the IK race = 3,750

The Club (example Division V) earns = 26,750 points with the Division Handicap of 2.25 = 60, 187 pts. for ONE race – that’s 4 early entries to races that fill up in 2 minutes like IRONMAN Arizona or IRONMAN Florida!
